The defense for Yigal Amir has concluded its arguments at the Tel Aviv District Court, where Amir is being tried for the murder of Yitzhak Rabin.
Weil said he found Amir to be a person who had difficulty with interpersonal relations and an almost Messianic drive in his decisions.
He described Amir as having traits of being narcissistic and individualistic.
When asked to explain the perpetual smirk or smile on Amir’s face during court appearances, Weil attributed it to the accused’s internal conviction that what he did was right.
He said Amir had made the decision to shoot Rabin with clarity of mind and full awareness of his decision.
