Clashes broke out between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers near Hebron for the fifth straight day. At one checkpoint near the West Bank town, some 100 Palestinian youths threw stones at the soldiers, who responded with tear gas and rubber bullets. No injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred as Israel Radio reported that a closure on the West Bank and the Gaza Strip would remain in effect through the weeklong holiday of Sukkot.
