A musical about a Jewish man who was killed by a Georgia lynch mob opened on Broadway. “Parade” tells the story of Leo Frank, who was convicted of the murder of a 14-year-old girl in a case that Frank’s lawyers eventually brought before the Supreme Court. Frank received a life sentence in an atmosphere of rampant anti-Semitism, but was taken from his cell and hanged by an angry mob. The play is directed by Harold Prince, whose past work includes “Cabaret” and “Sweeney Todd.”
