Russia’s leading neo-Nazi group said it will hold its national convention in Moscow “regardless of the decisions” of the courts. Earlier this year, a Moscow court approved a ban on gatherings of the Russian National Unity movement that had been issued by Moscow’s mayor, Yuri Luzhkov. A Moscow police spokesman said the authorities may resort to “forceful methods” to prevent the April convention, which organizers say will attract some 10,000 participants.
