Posters promoting the Hebrew month of Nisan as “Jewish Genealogy Month” are being posted in synagogues, community centers, day schools and other Jewish institutions across the United States and internationally. The campaign was launched by Avotaynu, a New Jersey-based publisher of a journal and numerous books on subjects related to Jewish genealogy, to encourage people to explore their Jewish roots. Nisan falls this year from March 18 to April 16.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
