U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno said she supports President Clinton’s newly proposed gun-control legislation during an address at the Anti-Defamation League’s annual national leadership conference. The legislation, announced Tuesday in the wake of last week’s Colorado school shootings that left 15 dead, would raise the minimum age for buying a handgun from 18 to 21, limit the purchase of handguns to one a month and outlaw possession of semi-automatic assault rifles by juveniles.
