A small group of protesters gathered at mile 10 of the New York City marathon Sunday to deliver a message to one of the runners: far-right Austrian leader Jorg Haider. “Haider Is Not a Running Gag” and “Stop the Ratcatcher on His Run for Power” were some of the signs carried in Williamsburg, a Brooklyn neighborhood with a large Jewish population.
