U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright praised a group of Algerian journalists for visiting Israel. “I think it’s a very good idea you’re here,” she said during a joint news conference with Israeli Foreign Minister David Levy. In Algeria, which has no diplomatic relations with the Jewish state, the official Algerian news agency APS called the journalists “traitors” and said the visit is “a mark of disgrace.”
