Mayors of six of Israel’s largest cities, including Haifa and Tel Aviv, have voiced support for acting Religious Affairs Minister Yossi Beilin’s proposal to dismantle his ministry and the local religious councils. They reportedly expressed their support in a meeting with Beilin.
