In a move that outraged Israeli opposition legislators, Knesset speaker Avraham Burg said a special majority of 61 lawmakers would be required for all votes on a bill to dissolve the Knesset and go to new elections. Despite the anger over the move, the Israeli opposition believes it may have assembled a majority of 65 in support of the bill, which is expected to be brought before the Knesset next week.
