Marty Glickman, a track star who believed he was denied a chance to run in the 1936 Berlin Olympics because he was Jewish, died Wednesday at the age of 83. Glickman claimed that the coach in charge of the 400-meter relay team, who dropped him and another Jew from the team the day before the race, was a Nazi sympathizer. Glickman later became well known as a sports announcer for New York professional sports teams.
