Israeli tanks demolished a Palestinian police station during a three-hour operation in the West Bank city of Jenin. Before pulling out, the troops reportedly took with them about 70 Palestinians jailed for collaborating with Israel. The Israel Defense Force chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Shaul Mofaz, said Jenin had become a “city of bombers” loyal to Islamic Jihad.
