Sen. Joseph Lieberman (D-Conn.) equated Israel’s attempts to end Palestinian terror with the U.S.-led global war on terrorism. Meeting Sunday in Jerusalem with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Lieberman said he had never seen as much bipartisan support for Israel in the U.S. Congress as he has in recent months. Part of the reason is “that the conflict that you are involved in here is being seen in the United States now as part of a larger global conflict against terrorism,” he said.
