The chairman of Israel’s Central Election Committee ordered the fervently Orthodox Shas Party to stop broadcasting election propaganda in religious sermons. According to Israel Radio, Supreme Court Judge Mishael Cheshin cited sermons given by Shas spiritual leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef that are broadcast via satellite.
