A controversy has erupted over an Israeli middle school’s use of fingerprints to track attendance. Students at the Bar-Lev Middle School in Kfar Saba are required to register their arrival by placing a finger in a scanner that is hooked up to a computerized data bank. The school principal told the Jerusalem Post that the idea had been evolving since a student was seriously wounded in a terrorist attack two years ago.
