Israel will be without chief rabbis until mid-April. Yisrael Meir Lau and Eliyahu Bakshi-Doron ended their 10-year terms this week, and it will be two weeks before replacements are named. Israel’s attorney general is expected to appoint a temporary replacement, so as not to disrupt religious services.
