Leonard Nimoy was among several Jewish cultural figures who received achievement awards from the National Foundation for Jewish Culture. Nimoy, known for his portrayal of Mr. Spock on “Star Trek,” stoked a controversy last year when he published a book of black-and-white photographs of women, many naked but for prayer shawls and tefillin.
