A 24-year-old chimp gave birth at an Israeli zoo. Officials at the Biblical Zoo in Jerusalem were surprised that Maya gave birth this week because they did not realize she was pregnant. The zoo’s two male chimps had been sterilized, but zoo officials said another chimp had reached puberty early.
