Argentina is issuing a postcard honoring a Vatican envoy who hatched a controversial plan to save Jews during the Holocaust. The postcard honors Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli, who baptized at least 24,000 Hungarian Jews to save them during the war. The Vatican’s envoy to Istanbul during the war, he became Pope John XXIII in 1958.
