A Jewish group in Israel honored a leading Sephardi feminist. The Mizrahi Democratic Coalition sponsored a conference at Bet Berl College outside Kfar Saba in memory of the late Vicki Shiran. She was a founding member of the group, as well as a founder of My Sister, an organization that aims to improve economic and educational opportunities for working-class Israeli women.
