The World Council of Churches, made up of some 347 Protestant and Orthodox bodies, is discussing divestment from the West Bank and Gaza. Meeting in Geneva, the Council’s Central Committee praised the Presbyterian Church (USA), which in July called for “phased selective divestment” from companies that do business with Israel.
