The University of Michigan received what is being called one of the largest grants ever to support Jewish studies at a U.S. university. The $20 million from the Samuel and Jean Frankel Jewish Heritage Foundation will establish an advanced institute that will bear the family’s name and be housed on the school’s Ann Arbor campus. Both Frankels are Michigan graduates.
