Max Fisher, an elder statesman of the U.S. Jewish community, died Thursday in Detroit at 96. Considered the dean of Jewish Republicans, Fisher advised every Republican president since Eisenhower, according to the Republican Jewish Coalition, of which he was founder and chairman emeritus.
