Nasser Al-Kidwa, the Palestinian Authority foreign minister, said that in his meeting with President Bush on Thursday, P.A. President Mahmoud Abbas would raise the issue of re-arming Palestinian police. Al Kidwa said the request would be limited to light arms, which he said are necessary to meet Palestinian commitments to crack down on terrorism.
