President Bush called on Israel to stop settlement expansion. Bush met with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday in a bid to move forward the peace process now that Israel has left the Gaza Strip. “Israel must remove unauthorized posts and stop settlement expansion,” Bush said in a press conference after the meeting.
