Iran’s president likened Zionism to fascism. In remarks published by Iranian media Monday, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the State of Israel was created as part of a Western scheme aimed at “sweeping the Jews out of Europe and at the same time creating a European appendix with a Zionist and anti-Islamic nature in the heart of the Islamic world.”
