Dalia Itzik was sworn in as the first female Knesset speaker. A former Cabinet minister and Labor Party veteran, Kadima member Itzik was sworn in Thursday as Israel’s Parliament convened to approve Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s new government. “My mission is to represent all sectors of the Knesset and society,” Itzik said.
