The Bush administration is launching a new effort to achieve a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. “We’re strongly committed to a two-state solution with Israel and Palestine living side-by-side in peace, two democracies supporting each other’s rights to exist,” President Bush said Jan. 4 after meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
