Natalie Portman is interested in directing and starring in a film version of Amos Oz’s autobiography. The actress recently visited Israel for talks with a local production company, Jerusalem Capital Studios, that is considering bringing Oz’s “A Tale of Love and Darkness” to the big screen. “JCS has met with Portman to discuss the possibility of her participating in and directing a film version of the book,” a company spokesman said Thursday. According to Israeli media reports, Portman is in talks to play Oz’s mother, who committed suicide when the writer was 12.
