Irma Stahler, believed to be the world’s oldest Holocaust survivor, died in Sydney at age 107. Born in Czechoslovakia in 1899, Stahler was transported to the Theresienstadt camp in 1941 and spent the rest of the war in concentration camps in Latvia and Germany. She never remarried after her husband died in the camps. After the war Stahler went to Sweden with her two daughters, immigrating to Australia in 1950. Stahler, who was Australia’s oldest living Jew, is survived by her daughter, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
