Israeli and U.S. forces are holding a joint exercise on defending Israel
against missile attack. The biennial drill, “Juniper Cobra,” involves hundreds
of U.S. Army and Israel Defense Forces troops and is scheduled to end March 20.
Officials said that unlike in previous years, this time the exercise is
entirely virtual, with computers being used to simulate interceptions of hostile
missile salvoes. Though officials declined to name the possible threat being
trained for, Juniper Cobra comes amid increased concern over Iran’s nuclear
program and long-range missiles.
