Warsaw University will host a conference on security and democracy in the Middle East. The May 27-28 event will feature as the keynote speaker U.S. Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.), chairman of the U.S. Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe.The conference attendees will include Andrezej Olechowski and Adam Rotfeld, former Polish foreign ministers; Oded Aran, a World Jewish Congress representative in Israel and former Israeli ambassador to the European Union; leading Polish politicians; and several prominent Middle East analysts from Poland, Europe and Israel.Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Shimon Peres may participate, but his attendance has not been confirmed.The conference is under the auspices of Polish President Lech
Kaczynski, and is being supported by the American and Israeli embassies
in Warsaw.
