The Israeli army said its missile strikes in the Gaza Strip are targeting businesses and moneylenders that transfer funds to terrorist organizations. An army statement issued Wednesday charged that millions of dollars are transferred each month to terror organizations in Gaza, enabling terrorists to “purchase and manufacture weaponry and the carrying out of attacks against Israeli civilians.” Over 200 Kassam rockets launched by Hamas this past week have killed one woman, injured civilians, caused property damage and the temporary evacuation of some residents of Sderot. “The funds transferred to the terror organizations are a central motivator to their violent and aggressive activity against Israeli civilians,” the statement said.
