Iran
offered to reveal its past nuclear activities.
The offer was made Thursday by top Iranian nuclear
negotiator Ali Larijani to Javier Solana, the E.U. foreign policy chief, the Associated
Press reported.
It comes as western nations are pressing the U.N. Security
Council to sanction Iran
again because of its defiance of earlier sanctions and its continued enrichment
of uranium.
Iran’s refusal to explain past activities is one of the
reasons that inspectors at the U.N. nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic
Energy Agency, believe that Iran’s nuclear intentions are not peaceful.
