An Israeli expatriate convicted of abetting Iran during wartime is expected to be released from jail seven years earlier than expected.Nahum Manbar, sentenced to 16 years for selling weapons and knowledge to Iran from 1990 to 1995, will likely be released in days due to good behavior, Israel’s Channel 2 reported. Manbar, according to the charges, was paid $16 million to sell poison gas materials and chemical weapons equipment to the Iranians. In his defense, Manbar claimed the Shin Bet had authorized his dealings in order to gain information about the Iranian weapons program.
