Authorities have determined that a hate letter from a neo-Nazi group is protected speech. The three-paragraph letter, which was mailed last month along with a journal from the American National Socialists’ Workers Party to tenants in a 30-unit complex in Virginia Beach, Va., contained derogatory comments about blacks and Jews, the Virginian Pilot reported. The letter was deemed not to be a criminal offense because it didn’t physically threaten the residents, Lt. Lynn Stafford said.”Unfortunately, it was just a very inflammatory letter,” said Stafford.
