The director of the Detroit Zoo admitted he faked his Israeli PhD in zoology.
According to Detroit news accounts this week Ron Kagan, 55, said he completed the course work at Hebrew University in the mid 1980s, but was unable to obtain the formal degree, despite multiple attempts. His Masters Degree from Hebrew University is genuine, zoo officials said.
The zoo board, alerted last week by an anonymous fax to the falsification on Kagan’s resume, is considering his professional fate.
