Israeli troops killed six Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip in heavy fighting.
The Israeli army’s raids early Friday came ahead of Israel’s pledge to start cutting power supplies to Gaza this weekend because of a continued barrage of rockets on Israel’s south.
The Hamas terrorist group, which controls the Gaza Strip, lost three gunmen in the fighting; Islamic Jihad, Hamas’ rival, said it also lost three. Hamas said it wounded two Israeli troops.
