The British celebrity graffiti artist Bansky has mounted a show of artwork painted on Israel’s security barrier.
Several international artists have joined Bansky in stenciling on the gray concrete wall, part of Israel’s security fence, that surrounds Bethlehem.
Bansky, who has painted on the wall in previous years, has added six new stencil works, including a dove wearing a flak jacket and a soldier being frisked by a young girl.
Bansky’s exhibit, called “Santa’s Ghetto,” is on display through Dec. 25. Bansky’s art and works by the other artists will be on display at a small Palestinian shop in Bethlehem.
“This show simply offers the ink-stained hand of friendship to ordinary people in an extraordinary situation,” Bansky said on the “Santa’s Ghetto” Web site, www.santasghetto.com.
