An Israeli commission of inquiry into the Second Lebanon War will deliver its final report on Jan. 30.

The Winograd Commission announced Sunday that it would deliver its conclusions to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Defense Minister Ehud Barak on that day, after which the report will be published.

The commission’s interim report, issued in April, was highly critical of Olmert’s handling of the 2006 war against Lebanese Hezbollah guerrillas, but stopped short of calling for his ouster.

Olmert has defended the 34-day offensive and vowed to stay in office. His wartime defense minister, Amir Peretz, and armed forces chief, Dan Halutz, resigned in disgrace.

Israeli analysts have said they do not expect the final Winograd report to call for Olmert to step down.
