Three members of a Palestinian family, including a 12-year-old boy, were killed in a botched Israeli attack in the Gaza Strip.

The civilian deaths came as the Israeli Air Force attacked Palestinian rocket squads Wednesday that fired 50 Kassams from Gaza, hitting the western Negev. About 20 of the rockets landed in Sderot, one hitting a home, the Jerusalem Post reported.

The three Palestinian civilians – the boy, his father and his uncle – were killed when the pickup truck they were driving east of Gaza City was struck by a missile targeted for a similar vehicle being driven in the same area by the chief rocket maker of the Popular Resistance Committees terrorist organization, the Post reported.

Nineteen Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks on Tuesday, The Associated Press reported. The Hamas government called a three-day mourning period for Tuesday’s dead, as well as a general strike. Government offices and shops also were closed in the Fatah-led West Bank.
