Israel dropped investigations against policemen accused of gunning down 13 people during pro-Palestinian riots.
Attorney General Menachem Mazuz announced Sunday that there would be no indictments over the October 2000 killing by police snipers of 12 Israeli Arabs and a Palestinian who were taking part in violent demonstrations in the Galilee.
Mazuz upheld an earlier decision by police internal affairs investigators to close the case for lack of evidence.
The riots, which came in solidarity with Palestinian violence in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, severely strained the Jewish state’s relations with its Arab minority.
Israeli Arabs accused the justice ministry of a whitewash and said they may take their case to an international court.
