A U.S.-Palestinian business partnership launched its first projects.

Representatives of the partnership – which brings together the U.S. government, the Palestinian Authority, the Case Foundation, the Aspen Institute and the American Task Force on Palestine – presented an account of their plans at the State Department on Monday for the first time since the partnership was launched last year.

They outlined plans for U.S. funds to build youth centers in Nablus, Ramallah and Hebron; small business loans funded through the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, a U.S. agency, that are already funding businesses including cab companies and garment manufacturers; and plans for call centers, including one in east Jerusalem.

The parties also described plans to expand bandwidth in the West Bank in partnership with Israeli high-tech companies.
