The dollar hit a 10-year low against the shekel.
Israeli market trading closed Thursday with the dollar valued at 3.37 shekels, the U.S. currency’s weakest point since 1997.
The dollar has plunged worldwide amid a U.S. debt crisis. There have also been signs of a slowdown in the Israeli economy.
This year, the dollar has lost more that 9.5 percent of its value against the shekel.
