The Reform movement marked the death of the 4,000th U.S. soldier in Iraq with a call to start withdrawing troops.
“On this grim occasion, we say again: It is time to pursue a new strategy which better protects the troops who remain in Iraq and also begins to withdraw them in the most expeditious way possible,” the Religious Action Center of the Reform movement said in a statement Tuesday. “Our men and women in uniform and their families deserve nothing less.”
The landmark death occurred over the weekend, approximately five years since U.S. troops entered Iraq.
