Ehud Olmert will undergo a scan ahead of treatment for his prostate cancer.
The Israeli prime minister’s office said Monday that on the advice of his doctors, Olmert would undergo a previously scheduled two-hour medical imaging test that evening, calling it a “routing and accepted procedure in the framework of monitoring a prostate tumor.”
Olmert is expected to undergo surgery for early stage prostate cancer in the near future, but has vowed that his condition will not interfere with his official functions beyond the basic needs of recuperation.
