The U.S. director of national intelligence is in Israel to discuss Iran’s nuclear program.

Mike McConnell flew to Tel Aviv this week for talks with Israel’s spymasters, who argue that Iran could have a nuclear bomb by 2010.

Last year’s U.S. National Intelligence Estimate found that Iran had shelved its military nuclear program in 2003, though it could still produce enough fissile material to produce warheads in the next decade.

McConnell was due to meet Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Thursday before departing.
