Swastikas were daubed on the driveway of a Conservative synagogue in suburban Philadelphia.

Two swastikas drawn in motor oil were discovered last Friday on the pavement at Beth Am Israel in Penn Valley, Pa.

In an e-mail to congregants, synagogue official John Harris said the Lower Merion Police Department was “looking into the incident.”

According to the e-mail, the police department said it would increase patrols near the synagogue, particularly during services.
