Israeli swimmer Inbal Pezaro won a second silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics.

She finished 2.04 seconds behind the winner in the women’s 200-meter freestyle S5 class event.

“It’s still an unbelievable feeling,” Pezaro, 21, told the Olympic News Service after the race. “It’s my best time so far. I couldn’t have done better than that, so I’m happy.”

Pezaro’s second medal win Tuesday  tied Israel for 39th place in the medal rankings among the more than 50 countries participating.

In other Israeli competitions at the National Aquatic Center, also known as the Water Cube, Iyad Shalabi came in last place in the men’s 100 freestyle S2 class final.

The Israeli men’s wheelchair basketball team posted its second consecutive win Tuesday, beating Brazil 73-60. Center Lior Dror led the Israelis with 26 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.

Defending gold medalists Dror Cohen, Arnon Efrati and Benny Vexler fell to fifth place overall after five races in the three-person keelboat (sonar) sailing event. The team’s best finish was second in its race. The event features 10 races before the final.
