More than 50 mayors from around the world are visiting Israel.

The four-day Jerusalem Conference of Mayors being held this week will introduce the mayors to Israeli political and financial leaders, as well as highlight the city’s accomplishments.

Six city leaders from the United States, as well as mayors from Fiji, Uganda, Sierra Leone and Moldova, are attending the conference, whose theme this year is exploring environmental solutions for urban challenges.

“We are honored that our city serves as an example of how an ancient city can be a model for embracing modernity and technological advancement,” said the host mayor, Uri Lupolianski.

The conference, in its 26th year, is sponsored by the American Jewish Congress and the Council for World Jewry.
